About ALB-AID

ALB-AID provides technical assitance for eduaction, integration, and democratic development to the most marginalised, disadvanateged and excluded groups and individuals who are victims of mines, SALW, UXO’s, ERW, trafficking, abuse, violence and discrimination, as a result of which they have have become handicapped.

The aim of  ALB-AID is  protection and improvement of the life of the  marginalized, dis-advanateged and excluded groups and individuals  who are victims of mines, SALW, UXO’s, ERW; victims of trafficking, abuse, violence and discrimination,  

Visioni:

ALB-AID seeks a progressive and tolerant society that protects social-economic rights of  disadvantaged and excluded individuals and groups, victims of civil and war conflicts, as well as victims of social-economic trauma, a society where they are fully integrated in their societies, live with dignity in peace and security.

Mission:

ALB-AID supports the most disadvantaged, marginalized and excluded groups and individuals with or without disabilities, victims of mines, SALW, UXO’s, ERW,  victims of trafficking, abuse, violence and discrimination, amongst them primarily children and women, to have access to, and influence upon local social-economic and political resources.   Its mission is to serve individuals and families of the above groups using the best local resources and experience available.  

This will be achieved through the development and strengthening of capacities of these groups and their communities, enabling equal opportunities for every one and empowering social-economic rights of individuals.

Objectives:

  1. To facilitate social-economic re-integration of  mine/UXO survivors and  PWD

  2. To improve access to medical and social services for landmine survivors and other PWD

  3. To disseminate information against trafficking of human beings and to support victims of trafficking in their integration process

  4. To keep low (zero) level of Mine/UXO accidents through Awareness Mine Risk Education Activities in Kukes Region

  5. To use the experience gained in Kukes in mine risk Education in other parts of Albania to conduct Small Arms Risk Education (SALW)

Trageted groups:

Excluded, marginalized and disadvantaged individuals ( with or without disabilities) and groups who are:

  1. Victims of military and civil conflicts : victims of mines, SALW, munitions, UXO’s and ERW.

  2. Victims of social-economic trauma: children, youngsters and women who are victims of trafficking, abuse, violence and discrimination

  3. Communities of  above mentioned groups

Subject of the work of VMA:

  1. To support victims of mines, SALW, UXO’s, ERW, victims of trafficking, abuse, violence and discrimination, primarily children and women to win their social-economic independence and to be integrated into society through increase of possibilities for economic empowerment, education and alternative vocational professional trainings.

  2. To work for the awareness of public opinion about Mine/ERW Education, trafficking, road traffic and social risks

  3. To support the local government units, public (education) institutions and NGO’s for the implementation of human rights in general, children’s rights in particular.

  4. To monitor implementation of different Conventions and strategies for children and women from government institutions and other relevant actors of civil society

  5. To identify and address all forms of discrimination of the targeted groups through different publications

  6. To identify and empower capacities of  local service providers for these excluded and disadvantaged groups

  7. To support local government units for the improvement of human security, social-economic transformation and reduction of poverty of excluded , disadvantaged and marginalized groups in need

  8. To advocate and lobbing on behalf of targeted excluded disadvantaged groups to know and have access to their social-economic, and cultural rights,

Independence: ALB-AID works according to its own principles and does not in any case define its action according to the internal or foreign policy interests of any government whatsoever.

Neutrality: ALB-AID is strictly non-partisan and works in full respect of political as well as religious neutrality and impartiality.

Equal opportunities: ALB-AID refuses, in its action, any discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, opinion or class.

Gender Balance: ALB-AID respects gender equality and works to make it part of its standards. In
employment policies priority is given to women.

Free and direct access to victims: ALB-AID bases its action on a requirement of free accesses to the victims and on direct management of its programs. All means are used for this purpose ALB-AID also checks the allocation of its resources, with a view to ensure that they are really provided to the vulnerable populations for whom they are intended.

Professionalism: ALB-AID bases the conception, the realization, the management and the assessment of its programs on requirements of professionalism and on capitalization of experience, so as to optimize efficiency and resources allocation. As such intends to hire the best expertise available in the region encouraging young skilled persons.

Transparency: ALB-AID is committed, towards beneficiaries as well as towards its partners and donors, to respect transparency and provides information on the allocation and management of financial resources and to present all due guarantees and evidence of its management process’s quality on regular basis’s.
